That looks like the interior of BC, Canada! I just saw on the news that those of you in the Eastern US are having some very bad winter weather at the moment. It sounds nasty. Stay safe & warm, one & all. I hope you do not have to travel in it. Maybe going by sea would be the best option!

The snow is pretty much all still here as the temperature hasn't gone above freezing since last Thursday before the snow hit us. The only thing melting anything is the direct sunlight. We have these 'icicles of death' hanging from the roof that are well over 3 feet long and 3-4" in diamter. Here's a picture of the bush out front of a friends house this afternoon:

I saw that image of the UK on the news last night-amazing! I guess here in Southern California we are the ones suffering from 'Global Warming'. It's been sunny and in the high 70s for over a week now-I'm ready for colder wet days! I've had the top down in the car almost every day.

I don´t want any more snow, but the meteorologists don´t listen.....
We had a white Christmas in the entire country for the first time since 2001.

My home 30 km north of Stockholm yesterday, -15°C.

Send some here! Whistler has great snow, but the local Vancouver mountains are feeling the effects of the warmest January in our history. The Olympics people seem not to be worried, but they would surely appreciate a few snowy days between now and Feb 13!

8am and -2 below zero (-18c). We are actually 3 degrees colder than Barrow, Alaska (one of top 10 Northernmost cities in the world).

In Denmark we also have lots of snow this winter. As you know its not normal here, but I really like it. Gives a lot of light in these dark weeks.

We are hosting the world next week to the WINTER Olympics. It was +15C (59F) and our tulips are coming through the ground....the world is going to get quite an interesting impression of Vancouver

It will go off well I am sure as Whistler has the snow it needs and Cypress seems to be under control.

If you're coming - bring your shorts!

Many feel that these large storms and climate changes (warmer and colder) are due to global warming. It all has to do with the ice caps melting ... so they say.

I do believe there is global warming, but I'm not convinced it's all man made. Perhaps a combination of man and natural cyclical changes to the earth.

It seems to be climate change as opposed to the old term 'Global Warming'. The climate of course changes a few degress in either direction and has done so for thousands of years. As an example it was actually hotter in Roman times than it is today. This snowfall in DC is the heaviest since the early 1920s when there was no Global warming talk. During the first 'Earth Day' in 1970, the main topic was Global cooling now it's the reverse-yet it's been colder over the last several years here in the States. Greenland use to green and may be again in the future.

Don't be confused by a snow storm. In the average, the temperature of the planet is increasing.

It's "El Nino" which brings the Pacific oceans warmer currents toward the US.
