Yesterday, I got the most terrible news in my life I was diagnosed with the most aggressive form of bowel Canser, it spread to my liver and lungs, and it is not curable. In time I will loose the battle. There are a view options to try the expend my life and next Thursday a team of specialist of the Hospital and the Canser centre will make a plan fore me and this will presented to me next Monday. Then I must make a dissension what I want and not want. You know I go fore the best possible alternative and want to life as long as possible BUT not to every price. Maybe not time to talk about it But I'm happy that I'm Dutch and we in The Netherlands have the Euthanasia laws. It give me great personal comfort that I don't need to suffer when time is there. But fore now I'm in a fighting mode and want to battle the Canser in me. That bravely said I'm very very sad and afraid fore things to come.

I will try to post and be around on Cruise Talk as long as possible and enjoy all you're post.

Ben.

Hi Ben,

I know you don't know me as I've been a "lurker" here on the board for several years.

I rarely post, but after reading your difficult and heartfelt message, I felt compelled to let you know that God loves you and wants the best for you. I hope you will allow me the honor of praying for your health, comfort, and strength in the coming days.

God Bless you!

Garnett

Heart wrenching Ben. I'm so sorry to hear this. Please know you have my support and positive thoughts & wishes, and I'm sure those of your entire extended family on CT as well.

If you can, please keep us all updated. My fingers are crossed that maybe some good news will come next Monday in the form of a viable treatment plan.

Todays evening news brings new hope for cancer victims. Testing was done on some that had Leukemia. 3 showed vast improvememt. The other in the test also responded well to treatment.
These findings will be tried on others with different types of cancer.
My brother has finished Kemo ( was give 6mo to 1 yr.) He's fighting and has it pretty much under control. Over a year now.
Be tough,attitude is everything!!!

Ben I just read what is going on and I feel as if someone has kicked me hard in the stomach. Even though we have never met, I do of course feel a strong connection to you w/our love of ships and of course HAL/NASM's history.

I have a friend who has the same cancer and after surgery and radiation he thank God is still with us. I'm sending you all my positive thoughts and prayers. Bruce
