Above some photos from a cruise from Copenhagen to Norway, Shetland Islands, Scotland, England and back to Copenhagen.
Click on the pics, and some text will be visible from where and when.
It was a 12 night cruise, and our first aboard Zuiderdam.
Nice ship, very good itenerary, and absolutely nothing to claim about.
First Port of call was Oslo, next Kristianssand and then Stavanger.
Next was Lervick Shetland, and from there Greenock Scotland.
Amazing to be in Scotland for the first time, with Pipes and Drums on the Quay, and lots of sunshine in rainy Scotland.
Next Port was Portree Isle of Skye. We had to tender to Portree, but what a place, beautiful city and the wheather was sunshine all the day.
We saw Eagles over the island, and it was fantastic. All in all a very nice day there.
In the afternoon we left Portree, and sailed towards Invergordon.
Invergordon was a bit cloudy but dry, and a Bagpipe player on the quay was wellcoming us.
We went on a busride to Loch Ness and Inverness arranged by HAL, very fine excursion, but no Nessie :-).
Next Port was Queensferry where Zuiderdam anchored up nearby the amazing Forth railway Bridge from about 1894. I have never in my life seen such an amazing bridge, wow it was a mastodont, there is some photos of the bridge on the link too.
We went on a busride to Edinburgh also arranged by HAL, and paid a visit to Edinburgh Castle as a must when visiting Edinburgh for the first time.
Nice city whereto I have to come back sometime.
Our last Port before sailing back to Copenhagen was Newcastle Upon Tyne.
Nice city too, we went on a sightseing in beautiful wheather.
From here to Copenhagen there was a seaday, but this was a relaxing day after all these exciting Ports of Calls.
Back in Copenhagen we took the train north to Fredensborg which is our hometown.
Hope yor enjoyed the photos.
Best regards
René.
