Just got back from doing a western
caribbean on Costa's Victoria.

It was horribe!
The food even in the dining room
was the worst!
Even the pizza was terrible.

I know Carnival now owns them and
they cater to europeans who love to
smoke... but it was ridiculous!

The entertainment and toga night were
fun.... but there are too many choices
like RCCL, Celebrity, Princess and
Holland America. To name a few.

It was a shame that food & service
was not a priority to them.
Have not been on Carnival, but if
it is like Costa count me out!

Good sailing....Lauri

Lauri,
Costa Cruises is a Genoa based Company.
I live in Genoa (Italy) since my birth and know the Company very well.
I can tell You that You have been very unlucky during Your last cruise aboard Costa Victoria because I know the strong selections
they make before choosing each food.
I can add that service and food quality are more strictly controlled when the ships are
in the Caribbean Area to satisfy American Guests in the best way.
You are right when You say about smoke : it's
terrible everywhere ! It should be forbidden to smoke in public areas (it's very interesting Carnival's idea to reserve a new
ship - the Paradise - to no-smokers).
I don't Know how much did You pay for Your cabin but I'm sure the price was much cheaper than RCCL, Celebrity, Princess and HAL: perhaps You must consider the ratio between quality and price!
However, next week I'll make Costa Cruises
Know Your complain (I know the right Office) and will tell You their answer.
In the meantime, I hope You'll come in Italy
and eat the real very good Pizza!
If You want, You can write me by E-mail.
Bye!

I recently sailed on the Costa Romantica (Costa Victoria's sister ship); it was wonderful. The food and service were excellent; our waiter and cabin steward pampered us to death. I'd definitely cruise with Costa again.

Everyone has a different opinion
about certain cruise lines and ships
that they have been on.

I think it is real important not to
put someone down for their views.

Some cruise lines do not make hardly
any announcements even in English.

I travel quite a bit and love to
converse with others from all over,
however I prefer Celebrity when it
comes to limiting the PA on board.

This has always been a friendly place
to come for cruising talk & advice
let's keep it that way.
