Having narrowed my decision down to these two cruise ships/lines, I'd love to have the opinions of people who have sailed with both lines before and which they most prefer. So, what do you guys say: Princess or RCCL??

Princess and RCI almost offer the same product except that Princess is supposed to be more upscale. Having been on both all I can say is I love them both equally.

If money is an issue then RCI is a great value for what is essentially the same product.

If you're willing to spend a bit more, then try Princess. I think they excel at giving mega-ship passengers the personable service that you usually see on smaller ships. Even the ticket books that you get in the mail before your cruise are nicer.

I don't know I can't decide...it's a toss up.

After having been on both Grand and Voyager, I prefer Voyager. There is just so much to do on her. But if service is what you're into, Princess offers great service on a more consistent basis than RCI.

I don't know if you have booked yet, but we sailed Princess and just loved it. We were on the Sea Princess, and I hear the Grad is bigger and better. Princess was a phenomenal line. They think of everything, and it was all great. I would sail again with them in a minute.

MagnumPI, I must respectfully differ with you. Princess and RCCL are not the same product. RCCL and Carnival are the same product being MASS market cruiselines. Princess and Celebrity are PREMIUM cruiselines. RCCL purchased Celebrity to give them a premium product to market vs. Princess and HAL. I have sailed on all the lines mentioned with the exception of HAl and there I am going by their reputation and rankings.

CherylGail, I don't know if you have made you decision. I agree with MagnmPI and WJCdiver that you will not lose going with either one of the two. However, MagnmPI did pointed out the essential factor for some --- Prices.

My husband and I have travelled with RCCL twice (once with Grandeur of the Sea-- This past december). And we were deciding between Grand Princess and Celebrity's new ship.

I could not offer you the comparison that you ask for. However, I could say that RCCL will surely give you value for what you spend. This is our experience.

Happy Cruising

As you can see from my name, I absolutely love the Voyager. From her Royal Promenade to her ice skating rink, she is simply the finest ship at sea. I don't know if you know this, but the Voyager offers atrium rooms that actually overlook the Royal Promenade...the Royal Promenade being the expansive center of the ship that features different shops, jugglers, mimes, etc. Basically, it is set up to be just like taking a walk down a city street!
And over 80% of Voyager's cabins have ocean views! Amazing is what she is. She will take your breath away!

I've been on both Royal Caribbean and Princess. They were similar, but not too much so. I found that Royal Caribbean was a bit zanier than was Princess. The Nordic Prince was a great little ship. It was classy, but had a better sense of fun than did the Crown Princess.

Considering what I've seen in pictures so far of the Voyager and the Grand Princess, I have drawn the conclusion that the Voyager smacks of Carnival (except for those magnificent dining rooms - they look like something out of the Mauretania), whereas the Grand Princess is a good deal classier.

Which is better? Depends on what you're looking for.
