Just wanted to remind you that I will be filing daily reports with pictures (...Internet connection willing) from HAL's newest ship, m/s Volendam starting next Monday. This is your chance to experience all of the hype of the Millennium celebration from the comfort of your browser.

Still don't know who the entertainment is but we are hoping for Charo...

Best wishes for a Happy Christmas and Prosperous New Year.

Hey Joe - where are you? Monday has come and gone and we are anxiously awaiting your reports on the Volendam. Problems with the internet connections on board?

Hope you're having a great time.
Happy New Year!

Actually, the ship doesn't leave until Wednesday. I am in Ft. Lauderdale right now and have posted my first report and will continue to post as the trip evolves.

By the way I can see the Sea Princess from our balcony as I type this. Here's a photo

Hello,Joe. Have just read your report for today,30th and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It made me feel very homesick for the ROTTERDAM,mainly because the VOLENDAM is a sister ship. I actually felt like I was walking the decks with you when you were describing everything.I really do envy you,Joe.It looks like you are having a great time and handling the frustration of the Internet stuff. I guess there will be some teething troubles with a new system like that on board.

Anyway, keep up the good work and I am looking forward to tomorrow's episode.

I wish you and yours a Very Happy New Year!!

Joe-
I'm not sure you're getting a chance to check the board, but I did want you to know that we are really enjoying your reports from the Volendam. My husband is away in Salt Lake City and he's checking every day also to get the latest. We've already discussed from one of your exterior pictures exactly where we think our cabin will be (on her sister ship) this summer. Sorry it's not been as easy as hoped to log the messages, but they are definitely appreciated as we know they are taking time away from your cruise.

Can't wait to hear about the New Year Millenium celebrations tomorrow night. Have a Happy New Year's Eve!

Happy New Year to all,

Just wanted to pop in from Cozumel and say hi. Just watched the Carousel leave and have sent in a fresh batch of updates. Look for them soon.

Joe,

Saw the Volendam this week in Cozumel when we were cruising in the Caribbean on the Carousel. A Huge ship and you can tell from looking at it that you would need a lot of money to sail on her!!!!

Very nice though

Haven't checked but I doubt that HAL's Volendam is any more expensive than a comparable Princess ship - holiday sailings - Christmas and New Year - are more expensive on any Line - it's those extra goodies.
