My wife and I are planning a late Fall (October 15th or later) cruise. We prefer a "classic" ship. Thinking of either Commodore or Rembrandt on Premier. Anyone have advice for us? And what should we expect to pay for a standard, or better, outside cabin?

My advice to you is the Rembrandt...she is
a great classic ship. I sailed her many,
many times as Rotterdam V, but not yet as
Rembrandt. It is my understanding that she
is still great and well maintained. I will
sail her soon on one of her Baltimore
cruises.
Which ever you chose, enjoy your sailing!!

Although, I can't speak from personal experience, I understand from reports that the 'Rembrant'is still one of the finest ships afloat!

Have sailed on Premier and on the 'Enchated Isle' of Commodore. Premier is a good value and you well have a nice time but I would rather sail on Commodore again, better food, shows, service, ect..

When you traveled with Premier, did you
cruise on Rembrandt or another of their
vessels.....each of their ships is very
different and I think a blanket statement
about the fleet is probably not accurate.
You are correct about Commodore's Enchanted
Isle.....a good older ship.....the former
HAL ship Veendam....but even in top form,
no match for the former Rotterdam.

Fatkoala - I agree with NAL. I have sailed on the old Voldenam, old Veendam's sister ship, and there is no comparison between this ship the the Rembrandt,(old Rotterdam), which I sailed on many times. They are old ships and the Enchanted Isle is much smaller than the Rembrandt. You can't compare the two and I feel the Rembrandt is a much better ship.
