"Instead of lining up to get on the tenders, we all pile towards the gangway and cause chaos for everyone else. At the buffet, we barge to the counter ahead of everyone else. Even when lift doors open, we just HAVE to get in first.
"Challenge us about it and we will act dumb, pretending not to understand.
"A clue: we're also the ones who pinch the sunbeds before dawn by putting our towels out, then go off on an excursion knowing we'll have a place later!"
Sorry for this rant, but I've just been on a trip where the passengers were an even mix of British/American, Italian, French, Spanish and ... German.
If know people think we Brits love queueing, but it does bring order in place of chaos.
Oh my god, you´re right, it must be the worst to stay on the same ship with... Germans ! Believe it or not, we had last week on the Costa Victoria even group´s from Japan, Switzerland and, and, and... It was great !

sread I like to hang back and let the vultures have at it first. I'm on vacation so I don't care what people do. If it makes them happy to put the towel out on the pool deck chair, I'll help them! If it makes them happy, great. I like cruising with a bunch of happy people. What bothers me more is people who complain about this and that when I'm trying to have a good time at the party..
My regards to Basil.
Ascendancy, I'm not much of a complainer (we Brits usually just grin and bear it, stiff upper lip etc!) and I *always* have a good time on holiday. But gazing at an unoccupied sunbed, or being jostled unnecessarily, isn't my idea of fun at all!
(Different nation, different quirks: Last week as we were being tendered out to Santorini, to a dockside devoid of anything but cranes and one snack bar, there was a wail from a disappointed American lady to her husband: "But I wanna SHOP!!!")
