Pacific Sky , my wife has spent days
carefully packing all the right clothes
for us to spend ten days sunning ourselves
in the south pacific. But i feel like i've

The one thing I find many people need, and yet have forgotten, is Immodium AD. It can really make the difference between a great cruise and a miserable time.

What is T-making equipment? Do you mean to bring a tea pot with you to have a proper cup of tea? That would be awfully bulky to pack!

Oh, did I have a good laugh!
Where do yu come up with these ideas? Don't think someone won't do this now that you have suggested it and then we'll know who to blame. I bet you are the life of the party - now I am sorry I'm not going on the Norway cruise with you and Joe!

Don't forget comfortable shoes! I brought nice, cute, stylish ones last month and suffered blisters in every possible place on my feet. Should have known better!

Remove half of what your wife has packed. Firmly close the lid, lock and attach tags. You're good to go!

I just got back into town and missed the question and the "Wildman's" idea! Very funny. I suppose this means Malcolm has a new nickname?
The extension cord comes in handy in the cabin. Blowdrying your hair, electric curlers, etc.
Steveson... That is pretty dangerous stuff your talking about. If my husband unpacked anything I packed, there would be a "MAN OVERBORD"

May I add:

** full size steam iron, not those puny travel irons
** empty plastic bags from grocery store (good way to isolate dirty or damp things at the end of the trip)
**cash already broken down into suggested tip amounts
**spray air freshener for bathroom (probably it's not as ventelated as your home)

Re the steam iron - don't know what line you cruise with but HAL does have regular steam irons in their laundry rooms. Ironing in your room is a no-no for safety reasons. You could forget to turn the iron off, leave it on a table, bed, chair and start a fire.
Why would you want to carry a heavy iron in your luggage? - my luggage is heavy enough without having an iron in it.
Agree with the air freshener - but I take one of those stick kinds as I don't like carrying aerosol cans on the plane.

Marqueuse - Ships don't have clocks in the cabins - I always take a battery operated clock with me and duct tape - can be very useful.

Don't forget to pack a nightlight - it will really come in handy and takes up no room in the suitcase. Also, don't forget a portable battery operated alarm clock - don't count on there being one in the room! We also brought an insulated water bottle, which we filled with ice and took on excursions with us.

sympatico... Most lines DON"T have guest laundry rooms. Carnival does. RCCL does not , nor does Norwegian or Celebrity. But we all know that irons are NOT allowed in the cabins. And we would NEVER break the rules

Well, I do use EXTREME care with the iron and being a modern appliance (i.e. not made of cast iron) it is not weighty.

Someone on Cruisetalk suggested using the bedspread as ironing board...BAD IDEA. In a split second I saw that there was enough synthetic fiber in the spread to melt and make a stain on my favorite shirt.

Room deodorizer, in aeroseol form, stays in my carry on bag on the airplane, not checked baggage.

OH YES! DUCT TAPE! Once, my luggage zipper broke in baggage claim at Miami airport. The tape made it possible to get the suitcase to the hotel. Then I was off on a shopping expedition for a new suitcase.

See tg_lindo's answer. That is one of the things we have used it for - repairing suitcases - zippers, handles, etc. Very handy to have with you.
Mercy - you are probably right - I wasn't thinking - Westerdam didn't have laundry rooms or ironing boards when we went on her for the Inauguarl cruise after HAL bought her. We had taken a 2 week back to back cruise and I told my husband and daughter to just pack for 1 week and then when we did the turn around in Ft. Lauderdale, I would do the laundry. SURPRISE - no machines or irons! We had laundry hanging all over our cabin!
Laundry facilities were put in after they stretched her.
