Just logged on and found the cute little Christmas Trees with the flashing lights to depict the new posts.
Very cute - someone was using their imagination. Now I think you should think up something like that for every holiday!!!

Kevin - they are on Cruise Talk Home page - where it lists the 6 categories, i.e. Cruise Lines, Cruise Ships, etc.
They are really cute.

Thanks but, I must be opening an old version or something as I only see light bulbs on the main page and folders and flaming folders on the sub-pages. Oh well I look out my window at acres and acres of trees (most loaded down with snow) Kevin

My tree has been up since November 25! Since we will be on the Norway Christmas Day-we wanted to have time to enjoy it! I am hoping the Norway will have a few trees up-anybody sailed at Christmas before?

Gooler1 - We've done three Christmas cruises - all on HAL - Christmas trees everywhere - even on the lifeboats.

We noticed that many passengers brought artificial miniatures on board for their cabins - also other special decorations.

Wish we were cruising this Christmas!

Happy Holiday!

Joe,
Great job on the trees.
We too have both of our trees up, needed to get all of the Christmas rush out of the way. We'll be doing the deep Caribbean on the Horizon departing on Saturday.
With the colder weather we've had don't think I want to come back.
What do you have in mind for New Year's, a time square building with a ball that drops for more than ten posts??

Call me Scrooge - but I didn't bother putting up a tree or put lights outside, this year as we will be on the Veendam Christmas Day and we won't have Christmas with the children/grandchildren until after the New Year.
Maybe I will put up a little ceramic tree that I made years ago.

Sympatico.......guess I must be Scrooge II because I haven't put up a single decoration this year 'cos of being on the MAASDAM for Christmas and New Year. In any case,I never put up Christmas decorations before December 24th and then I take them down on January 5th every year....why? Because those are the TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS!!
Being as I will be back home on January 4th,it is hardly worth the trouble for just one day(I leave for Ft.Lauderdale on Dec.23rd!)

However,I am really lookng forward to spending Christmas on the ship. The descriptions I have read on another thread have quite whetted my appetite.

Sympatico, you and I will be having a ball, even if we are on different ships!!!!!

(Is this why we are called Merry Widows?????)
LOL

I'm with Terri
".........I never put up Christmas decorations before December 24th and then I take them down on January 5th every year....why? Because those are the TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS!!"

Strange as it may seem to many, Dec. 25 was not recognized as a 'holiday' in Scotland until the early 50's. I believe I had the best of both worlds - a Scottish mother and an English father - we celebrated both Christmas and New Year (Hogmanay). I grew up in Scotland so Hogmanay is still very special to me - "Slange Var" (pronounced ‘slan-je varr’) which means "cheers, your good health".
