After looking at NCL's website, it does indeed seem that the SuperStar Libra will be renamed Norwegian Star.
This makes me wonder!
Could this be a premature slip of the tongue, veiling the fact the the present Norwegian Star (ex Royal Viking Sea) will be sold, or possibly transfered to StarCruises?

Yes, I am a loyal cruiser with StarCruises, but it does get to the point where one begins to wonder exactly "what the hell are they doing?"
It's at the point where you feel hesitant about booking a cruise, because there is no guarantee that the ship will still be sailing from its published home port!
At least I know that my cruise this Sunday aboard Norwegian Star from Taipei is still confirmed. But, then again, one hour to the next, can bring unexpected changes.

Happy cruising,
Mike

Deck 9, you said that Norwegian Star will be sold, or possible transfered to Star Cruises. I thought she was already transfered to Star?

Maybe Star cruises will be just changing names of the present N.Star. Thats a NCL name and it dosnt seem right that an NCL ship will have a Star Cruises name (N. Leo or N. Virgo) and Star Cruises has an NCL name. (N.Star)

Im not sure if what i just said makes sense, but if it dosnt, read it over and it should!

Hi Andizz,

Yes, I understand your reply. I do not know for fact if Norwegian Star has been transfered or loaned to StarCruises. I do know that when Star Aquarius was repositioned to Bangkok from Taipei, this left a gap here in Taipei.
When Norwegian Capricorn Lines ceased operations (for whatever reasons) Norwegian Star was brought here to Taipei.

There has been rumours floating about that Fred.Olsen was/is interested in buying Norwegian Star. But I have heard from "someone" that this deal has fallen through.

May I please add a post script to all this by saying,
That no matter who finally operates the Norwegian Star, I sincerely hope that she will be looked after with love and respect which she deserves. Here in Taiwan, she is just a "boat." The people here have no idea about her past and what a classic beauty she is. To them she is "just too old."
But, as her current Master, Captain Kjell Holm says, the old lady still has many more years in her.
So be it!!!
I hope she will sail for many years to come and give delight and happiness to newcomers, and bring back nostalgia to the more veteran cruiser.
Norwegian Star is still a graceful lady who can still capture your heart.
I will be sailing on her again this Sunday.
If there are any new changes that I see or hear about, I will post it.
Thanks for your reply Andizz
Regards,
Mike

hey,
do you think is possible that the Norwegian Star (ex. Royal Viking Sea) could be transferred to Orient Line?

Superstar Libra will be transfered to NCL instead of Superstar Leo as planned. There where probably to mutch work to change the intrerior to fit americans instead of asians.

Norwegian star will stay at Star Cruises, probably renamed and sail out of Taiwan,
