We are thinking of going on the Norwegian Sun preview cruise out of Southampton on 7th September but after reading all the bad press NCL has received on this board, is this a good idea?

Was on the Norwegian Dream this week with lots of officials and none of them had any doubts. And me neither.

Welcome aboard MoJo

My advice is "Go for it"! New ships are built to the highest safety standards. Although NCL have no excuses regarding the SS Norway, it does tend to be older ships that fail the various tests.

Lots of CruiseTalkers have had good experiences with NCL, see Menu left: "Readers Reviews"

We are going on the Sun over New Years. I am a little nervous about this and I have been hearing some bad info on NCL. Can you get back to me and tell me what you think? thanks

I would go. NCL does have problems with Norwegian Wind, which is a newer ship.

Their biggest problems generally are people-related. Hopefully, in the current market decline, they will understand that they need to improve customer service.
