We are booked now for HAL in the baltic. We have never been on HAL but have read lots about it and even though this ship is her oldest and smallest i am sure we will have a great time. Booked this cruise through an internet site that offered us 64% off original price as it is so close to sailing, thought that was a bargain.

Its the Noordam and we have read mixed reviews though we have sailed on smaller ships before. This is our first 10 day cruise as the others were 7 and not teenagers with us this time

Mitch, the Baltic itineraries are just fascinating - you will really enjoy the variety of interesting ports of call.

I think the Baltic states are worth a visit on ANY ship!

Mitch: We have been on the Noordamfour times, the last of which was a back to back double cruise around South America. It is one of our favorite ships. The only two negatives are the lack of verandas and the bad traffic pattern in the lido buffet. I think they fixed the latter when she was in drydock last year. You will enjoy it! A tip - if the coin laundry on your deck is busy try the one on the topmost deck (boat deck?) the folks who have the expensive cabins there don't wash their own clothes!

As far as the Baltic Sea-cruises are concerned, you will see lots of beautiful cities with plenty cultural background.
I will start a Baltic cruise with MS PALMIRA on the 30th June for 10 days.
I saw the NOORDAM in Naples during my ODESSA inspection. The ship was in excellent condition and it seemed like passengers were all very happy about the cruise. It is one of those kinds of ships which still look like real ships. The size is ideal.
Really a good choice.

HAL's Noordam is a great ship - just the right size - nice itinerary too. We went through the Canal on her from FLL to Vancouver and did a couple of 14 day Christmas and New Year trips - no complaints at all.

Take James' tip about the laundry -

A cruise is what you make it - ENJOY

Happy cruisin'

HA is my wife's favorite line and my second favorite. The Nordham is a great little ship. Easy to get around with great facilities. We have been on her twice. The service on HA is great, the entertainment is very good.

St. Peterburg will be the highlight. Be sure to visit the Hermitage Museum and Peterhof( summer palace). The fountains at Peterhof are unbelievabele.

If you stop in Copenhagen go to Tivoli Gardens, it's a magical place, even more magical at night.

Wish I were going with you.
