Hooked by Cruising, there
is NO airport at Port Canaveral sweetie, your TA is giving you wrong directions. The CLOSEST AIRPORT is in Orlando. They
take you to the Port of Canaveral by busses after you land. No airport exists
at Port Canaveral, there are
only small airports that cater to Cessnas, Piper Cubs
and possibly to Lear Jets of
big executives. But NO big
planes land there, only at
Orlando. This I know for sure, as I've been there enough. Hope this helps your
dilemna. Also, make sure about your ground transport before you leave your hometown to get to the Orlando Airport, sometimes the cruise lines may offer free transport from Orlando International Airport to Port Canaveral. I hope this helps clear up the air.
Some Travel Agents are in the business for the money and don't bother for the details. When my husband and I were in the business, we told our cruise passengers all they had to know. We did'nt go groping for the answers. We asked the lines, read the brochures and so forth. Your agent needs to look again, you will be landing in Orlando, NOT PORT
CANAVERAL, they don't have an airport. Hope this helps.

Hi Dambrosi thanks for the info on airport or lack of one! As you know by now when I called our TA back she said she made an error and meant Fort lauderdale, but as it turned out she was wrong there also as we are flying into Orlando. What a mess I'll be glad when our tickets are here and we won't have to deal with this company again.

Just curious Hooked On - what company were you dealing with? Did they book it directly with the cruise line or through a tour operator?

Of course we do things in Canada as they do in Oz or the UK - use tour operators a lot - so am just curious...

Hi Jekyll I'd rather not give any company names out on the forum page. I got good advice from Malcolm on telling my story here as a heads up to others but he advised not to mention anyone by name. Everyone knows though that the company is carnival since we are booked on carnival's pride for March break but I put the blame on our TA for the majority of the problems and how they were handled. I will e-mail you after the cruise and let you know then.
