Thanks everyone for all the posts. It is official there is no airport in Port Canaveral! We just found out that we are flying from Toronto to Philly to Orlando and the same on the way back. Hell of a differance from flying into PC, isn't it! Oh well I'm sure everything will end well. I have faxed a letter of complaint to Carnival I already mailed one when this all started but didn't hear back from them so decided to send another one by fax, we'll see what happens. I'll keep you all posted. Thanks again Happy cruising.

Hooked On...I am confused - why are you complaining to Carnival? I thought you said your TA told you there was an airport in Port Canaveral? And even if she says that Carnival told her it was Port Canaveral into which you would be flying - should she not have corrected them?

Am just curious - bottom line - best to get a new TA anyway...

Hi Jekyll so much has happened with booking this cruise that it has been a nightmare. read my other posts to get the basic concerns. But It all started with carnival canceling our cruise on the Holiday and refunding our credit card without informing us or the TA (that's what they say anyway!) so we have put everything on paper and sent it to Carnival I do believe they have a part to pay in the mess we are in now but certainly our TA has a huge part in it especially with the lack of communication. we have also been in contact with our TA I feel they should reimburse us in some way for all the grief we are having. She said she will it will be interesting to see how it all ends up. I'll keep you posted.

What bothered me the most was when the travel agent told you that she had "flown into that airport MANY times." That was an outright LIE.
You don't mind when someone makes an honest mistake but THAT was a little much. A blatant LIE. Darn!!!!

I am a travel agent and I just booked a small group on Carnival's Fantasy. The reservation agents at Carnival kept saying that they had airfare from NYC to Port Canaveral! Each time I had to correct them and say "you mean Orlando" some of them would not even answer!

But that still does not let your T.A. off the hook. He or she made a mistake and did lie which is wrong. If I am unsure of something I am honest with the client and I am willing to find the correct info out for them.

I have left out of Port Canaveral a couple of times. It is a easy one hour ride from the Orlando airport.

I guess the part that bothered us most was that instead of feeling that she made an "honest mistake" in saying Port Canaveral instead of Fort Lauderdale, was, that even saying Fort Lauderdale was wrong because we are flying into Orlando. She seems to have told us anything instead of looking into it. if she had said in answer to my question "where do we fly into if we are sailing out of PC" "let me look into that and I'll get back to you" none of this would have happened. but instead she gave us the info right there and then on the phone, she didn't even hesitate. That's why when I asked "does PC have an airport" and she said "yes, I have flown into it many times
I believed her. As I said before she now says she made an honest mistake and she meant Fort L but we are not even flying into FL so I don't know what the hell she was thinking. I'll be glad to get on the ship!! 18 days and counting!
