Given the low-costs of labor on the Carnival fleet, documented below, did the costs of labor (Unionized, US, wages-and-hours-limited, and such) on the US flagged ships of the "Classic Voyages" group of lines make their ships non-competitive?
Certainly the published rates for the coastal cruises of "Cape May Light" were higher than the norm. But Nantucket Clippers are also US flagged, are they not?
Now, the topic of this posting. Where is the Cape May Light? Is she for sale?

We have a few port calls by the Clipper Cruise Line shipa both in Chesapeake Cruises and redeployment to either southern or northern waters. The Bay is very shallow here. The "Nantucket" and "Yorktown Clipper" usually tie up at the Maritime Museum, but the "Clipper Adventurer" - a larger ship and had to to tender in. We also have had visits by the spanking new American Cruise Line ship. The "Cape May Light" had to tie up at Oxford on the Choptank River and bus to here.
I posted an review of this vessel from an Article in the Washington Post last year.
I should think that if either Clipper Cruise Lines or the American Cruise lines could get it at a REAL bargain, that the "Cape May Light" would fit their operational patterns.
But the Feds and MARAD move in mysterious ways.
So I shall continue the tradition of St. Michaels in "fooling the British." As long as Malcom is at the helm, it should not be too difficult!
