Need to know if you can bring disposable razors? Also, how is the lighting in the cabins? Don't know if I should take a small lighted make-up mirror or not. I don't want my make-up to look garrish. Lastly, what type of blow dryer is good? Thanks for any info.

Hey, guys can answer these questions! Disposable razors, yes. Most ships have blow dryers in the cabin already. As far as lighting, what ship are you sailing? I am sure someone who has cruised the ship can tell you more. Have fun!!!

Hello and Welcome Aboard,
Although, obviouslyI can't answer your question from a girl's point of view, I do know that disposable razors are allowed, if they are put in your normal luggage on the plane, the luggage that will be in the cargo hold.At least, that's what I heard. You should call your airline.Disposable razors are often supplied by your room stewart. The lighting is adequite, but girls may be more finicky. The best blow dryer is a small, low voltage one that folds, it may be sold under the name of travel blow dryer.

How come 2 guys are the first to answer!

Don't know which ship you are going on, but on HAL ships I find the lighting over the dressing table is terrible. I put my makeup on in the bathroom.

I have short hair so I find the hair dryers quite adequate, although I have seen a lot of posts from other gals who don't use them as they are not strong enough - they bring their own.

Disposable razors are fine, just don't put them in your carry on luggage - put them in your checked luggage.

Agree with Sympatico. The lighting at the dressing table is terrible on Hal. I bring a lighted makeup mirror. The bathroom light is much better, but I need the magnified mirror.
If you use one at home, bring it, just in case you will need it.

I hate the hair dryer. I bring my own.

A nice line to use if, like me, you're follically challenged ... "I spent half an hour getting my hair ready, then forgot to bring it with me."

We have flown four times since 9-11 and I have had disposable razors in my carryon. No problem.

Hi!
Just went on a 25th Anniversary cruise on Carnival Triumph for 7 GLORIOUS days April 13-20!
They provide you with lots of goodies in the bathroom! There were 2 packages with 2 razors in each. I brought our own & am going to use the provided ones on future travels.
You can bring disposable razors with no problems in your carry-ons. I read today that you can now take nail files, too! AND clippers!!!
As for the light in the bathrooms-it was very well lit in our cabins' bath. Better than home.
There is a HUGE mirror & vanity & very roomy medicine cabinet with 3 shelves & mirrored door.
If you are going on Carnival-no problem-o mon!
Happy Cruising!
