Today the cruise market is dominated by the big competitors like Carnival, Rccl, Princess and Star/Ncl group.
Many independent cruise lines like Premier, Commodore, Regency. Dolphin are now desappeared.
Only few smaller companies exist today:

Golden Star Cruises: currently operating the Agean 1. This company has destroyed the excellent reputation of the greek cruise concept.

Arcalia/ Classing International Cruises: not a bad companies, but its cruise product is anonymous, without a distinct accent.

My Travel Company/ Sun Cruises and Thompson Cruises: The English people are very lucky: they have two excellent opportunities for cruises at a very reasonable prices.

Radisson Seven Seas Cruises and Silversea Cruises: with no doubt the best in the luxury cruise market.

Other suggestions ?

Well, GLCC isn't really a cruise line... Just a travel agency selling other company's ships. Columbus is from Hapag-Lloyd and Le Levant from Compagnie Isles du Ponant.

Arcalia Shipping - Funchal, Princess Danae, Arion, now Discover (ex Platinum ex Hyundai Pungak ex Island Princess ex Island Venture - see thread in Cruise Ships).

Royal Olympic - Olympia Explorer, Olympia Voyager, Olympia Countess, Stella Solaris, Triton, Odysseus

Louis Cruise Lines - Princesa Amorosa, Cypria, Marissa, Victoria, Ausonia, Emerald, Serenade

Hebridean Island Cruises - Hebridean Princess, Hebridean Spirit

Fred. Olsen Cruises - Black Prince, Black Watch, Braemar

Hapag-Lloyd - Bremen, Columbus, Europa, Hanseatic

Peter Deilmann - Berlin, Deutschland, Lili Marleen

Transocean Tours - Astor, Astoria

Phoenix Reisen - Albatros, Maxim Gorkiy

Seabourn is a part of Carnival Corp... Thus not a small cruise line.

Small ships, yes, small company, no.
