I have never been on the ship, but a neighbour did Alaska on the Galaxy a few years ago and quite enjoyed it.

There is plenty of room on the ship ( the last time we were onit it was full) to sit in the sun or find a quiet place to sit and read. Try the lounge at the top of the ship - forward for quiet place. it never seemed busy. also, try the alternative lunch by the indoor pool, it was very creative at times.
all in all, I would go on it again. It is big but not gigantic.
