Fairplay reports that "there was a lot of hassle and expense" involved in Braemar's inaugural US East Coast calls at Charleston, Port Canaveral and Key West, with lengthy processing of passengers and crew significantly reducing time ashore. On Olsen spokesman said they were not anticipating returning to the US but remained "dedicated" to the Caribbean and would continue using Barbados as a home port and Havana as a turnaround port.
November 12, 2002 - Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced a new series of cruises on Black Prince and Braemar in late 2003 and early 2004.
Black Prince will embark on a series of ex-UK winter sun cruises, starting with a 14-night Canaries cruise out of Southampton on November 9 calling at Madeira, La Gomera, Tenerife, Lanzarote and Gibraltar. Braemar will sail out of Dover on September 24 for a 15-night Baltic cruise before she repositions to Havana with an 18-night itinerary from Dover on October 9 to start her Caribbean fly/cruise season.
