As I was saying the other week about increased advertising I see a lot of Celebrity ads in magazines here (I notice them more because Im studing marketing at the min.)! They all show a ship and picture of people. The people always look 'unposed' if I can say that word, but after looking at a lot of them and reading Celbs catch phrase "You don't have to be a Celebrity to be treated like one" I figured that the pictures look amatur to make it look like paparatzi(?) snaps! Quite smart.... just thought I'd share my marketing opnion

Haven't seen the ads, but they do sound very clever. The slogan either means first-class pampering or an over-zealous ship's photographer.

Celebrity and Royal Caribbean seem to have really cut back on advertising in the US, the only ones I'm seeing now are for Carnival and Holland-America.

These new Celebrity ads are quite popular, enough so that new Celebrity Cruises t-shirts signed by real celebrities are being auctioned off at ebay. Go to ebay and do a search under "celebrity t-shirt".

Celebrity Cruises says the T-shirts used in its ‘Celebrity’ advertising campaign have become wildly popular, as evidenced by calls to the company’s reservations line asking for information on where to purchase them. The white T’s are emblazoned with the lower-case word ‘celebrity’ in blue. This week, eBay will sponsor a philanthropic auction featuring the T’s with autographs by celebrities including the cast of ‘Friends,’ as well as Steve Martin, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jackie Chan, Kevin Bacon and others. The shirts are at www.eBay.com from January 20-30.
