Except for Ryndam and SoBeTim, do any cruise line representatives, employees, or marketing/public relations personnel read this board and apply any of the thoughts, gripes, and ideas cruise talkers come up with?

I don't know about this board, but I do know that some of my friends on board HAL ships, do read a couple of the boards.

If I see something that I think would be of interest to them, I send it to them. A couple of times it has been very helpful.

I think they do. If you listen to "NCL's Big Announcment" web cast the CEO says at the begining of the web cast that the announcment is geared to travel agents. He said that he new many people would be listening other than TAs because the news spread through message boards. Now I happen to visit a couple different message boards (but this is the best!) and this was the only one that spoke of the event.

So i think they are listing!

I do know that here in the UK Fred. Olsen cruise line executives read comments and reviews posted on this site as I received a personal e-Mail from them after posting the review of my families last cruise on Black Watch. The e-Mail concerned a comment I made towards the end of the review so it must have been read carefully and in full.
As an aside, we are flying out to Florida next Sunday for a week in Orlando followed by a week on Grand Princess, can't wait.

Regards

Keitaro,

I'm flattered that you thought of me, but currently, I am no longer working "in" the cruise industry. I still have a cruise-only travel business but the question was do "cruise line personnel" read this board. I use to work on the ships but that was some time ago...my last contract was aboard the QE2 and I signed off in August of 1992.

I believe that Gerry is still lurking around on this message board on occassion...he works with Cunard on the QM2 project.

I'm sure there are some cruise exects that peek through cruise message boards on occassion. I wonder if the marketing people at cruise lines are smart enough to read online cruise-related message boards.

Yes, I know for sure that cruise line personnel read the cruise related bulletin boards. Can't say they necessarily read this one, but I have shared site addys with crew on the ships and have received e-mails with comments about something they have read.

I'm sure they do. In fact a few years ago there was a message board asking about names for future Princess ships- now it may have been coincidence, but "Diamond Princess" and "Sapphire Princess" were listed by yours truly.

Of course I also listed "Emerald Princess", "Rose Princess", "Atlantic Princess", and "Silver Princess" and none of those have been used.

Anyway, I think the cruise lines would be foolish not to read these board. Not only is it a way to keep a pulse on what their passengers are thinking- its also a great source for ideas.
