Is it true that the SS norway is retiring this year?? I have heard rumours but not sure on that...anyone have any info????

NCL says she has sailings through April 25,2004 so I dont think it's for a little while.Besides she is still looking nice so I dont think they should get rid of her yet.

We got a 4 category upgrade on her for a Nov. 9th sailing. It's going to be our 4th time on her. YIPPPPEEEEEEEE

yeah I have never been on her but..heard that there were sales on cause it was retiring...so wasnt quite sure..thanks tho!!

I expect NCL/Star will be running another 4 or so official farewell seasons before she actually retires. From all accounts the ship is doing quite nicely so she should be around for a while. (Unless the problems in the Gulf push fuel prices through the roof.)

Topgun is right! I took the farewell cruise on her in 2001. In fact it was farewell to the Carib. but she's still there, so I rest my case!

Obviously each year she gets older and nearer to retirement, but few could accurately predict when that will be.

As I've said before, make the most of her while you still can. She is an experience.

Couldn't agree more with Malcolm. The NORWAY is a must for anyone interested in cruising on a real ocean liner.

Gurliegurl: check out the reviews under the "reader reviews" heading on the left (including mine).

Dambrosi: what did you upgrade to? I still say you should just design and sell your own Norway shot glasses on your next cruise. Just set-up a table on the I-deck promenade next to the duty-free store. I'll bet you could more than cover the cost of your cruise.
