Can anybody please confirm these two ships are currently sailing in the West Med on 7 day cruises for Spanish operators?

The BOLERO is definitely sailing on 7-day itineraries out of Barcelona for Spanish Cruise Line, which has chartered the ship from Bolero Transportation Inc.. Even while the ship is managed by Festival Cruises, they are no longer part of the joint-venture with Iberojet and Transmediterranea.
The MARE NOSTRUM CROWN is scheduled as announced but currently there are no furter news on the exact itineraries but it is to be expected that it will also sail from Barcelona.
The main competitor of Spanish Cruise Line is Pullmantur Cruises which is currently operating 4 ships, the OCEANIC, PACIFIC, R5 BLUE DREAM and R6 BLUE STAR. An announcement earlier ago which said that Pullmantur has also aquired the RIVIERA (ex. D. JUAN) cannot be confirmed !
Another rival is Globalia Cruises which operates Festival's FLAMENCO on weekly cruises out of Barcelona.

Crown is sailing out of Valencia. Someone gave a link in another thread, but here's another I was looking at the other day, showing her itinerary and pricing etc... and there's Eric photo of her in Livorno here.
There is certainly quite a wide choice for cruising out of Spain at present. Bolero's itin out of Barcelona and pricing is on Trasmediterranea's site.

Unfortunately SCL's offical site (the one Pam linked above, it is part of Trasmed's site as they are a part-owner of SCL) is quite poor. I also LOVE this translation:

quote:
The cruiser Bolero will be stranded on december 30th, 2002. Its new program will start april 7th, 2003, with cruises that will visit the ports of the western part of the Mediterranean, setting off from the port of Barcelona.

In other news, tomorrow we might have our family car stranded to have the oil changed ...
