I second that!
Cunard - I love history and their ships are so interesting to learn about. They own my fav. place on earth (QE2) and I find their ships to be attractive, tasteful and good value.

Celebrity Cruises on the international market
Phoenix Reisen on the German market
The crews of HAL are so very special and, like Sympatico, we have many friends among the crews of the various ships.
We have always felt HAL is a wonderful value for the dollar.
one Question:
I have no Experience with Phönix,is it better than Transocean with the Astor and theAstoria?
Why?
Greetings,
Amerikanis, alias Werner Wöhrle, from Gutach, Black Forest,Germany.
Ich schreibe es in Englisch, sonst verstehen die Meisten wieder nix.
I like Phoenix better than Transocean Tours because the staff seems to be more open and more professional than Transocean's staff. Further the MAXIM has been extremely well maintained during her career and gives a better overall impression of quality than the ASTOR and ASTORIA. Also the ALBATROS, which already starts to get her age, is still a ship with lots of charme and the product seems to be slightly better developped even if it's a ship of an inferior categorie.Nevertheless, also Transocean Tours does a good job with both ASTORs. I know every corner on the ASTOR and also the ASTORIA is familiar to me and they are good ships. But they could care a bit better about ASTOR's interiors (especially the carpets !) and ASTORIA's exteriors (painting and decks !). Both points would never be a doubt on the MAXIM. The ship is simply in better condition even if much older.
I only did an Cruise in 2002 on the Astor in Southeast-Asia together with my Wife.
We are happy on that Ship, booked at Cruisetravel.nl.
The Astoria i visited when she was named ASTORin Trondheim, in 1983, when we are on the Victoria of Chandris.
We go on Board (at that Time no Problem) and drink German Draught Beer (Becks) in Harry's Pub.
Then we must hurry, to come back to our Ship, which was an walk of about 3-4 Kilometers away, without the Luck to find an unordered Taxi in Town, which was free, we would not come back to the VICTORIA in Time.
While sitting out of Breath in the Taxi, and driving to the Harbour, we found an Scottish Passenger who was disabled by his feet, and walks as fast as he could back to the Victoria.
We stopped the Taxi and picked him up...
...so everybody was in Time to sail.
The Staff in 1983 of the Astor was arrogant, they told me, that i should be on their Ship and not on the old Victoria, which is good for the Breakers(she was built in 1934-1936).
Six Weeks later, the Astor was in Bankruptcy and all of the Staff are fired. The Ship goes to Safmarine in South Africa and was later sold to Communist Germany "DDR", where she was called ARKONA, this is the Name of former famous German Ships and an Cape on the Island of Rügen.
The Victoria did for ten more Years an great Job for my preferred Company CHANDRIS, later for LOUIS,and is now out of Order...
...such is Life!
We went on Islandbreeze once it was purchased by Premier. It was not in good shape, the food and service were only fair.
The ships have been clean, the staff and service very good. The food has been very good. The cruises pleasant, relaxing and quite enjoyable. And yes, they were fun ships!

I never cruised with Celebrity, but when onboard Celebrity's Constellation for one day I had the time of my life! This company seems great to me as well.
