Hello,
This is my first post on this forum, and I am proud to say that I am the owner of Premier Cruises (Not to be confused with the late Premier Cruise Lines).
A group of people that I work with were talking about creating a cruise line. I thought about it for days on end. Finally, I decided to work to make the cruise line idea a reality.
I thought from a customers standpoint when writing the business plan for this cruise line. What would the customer like to see? Well, I came up with this... "PERFECTION".
I have come up with a plan that will give my cruise line the advantage over most other cruise lines.
I cant disclose the details of the plan as of now because it is not in effect yet.
There is but one problem. We dont have the money to create this cruise line. If anyone would like to help find people to invest in this cruise line idea, that would be great. If anyone would like to help to create this cruise line, I would be glad to accept your help.

Thanks,
Thomas Whalen

Do you own the name yet ?
and have you got a ship yet ?
Or is it just starting to take shape ?
I think you better talk to an airline or some big hotel owners to help you start and some company's that you can use for deliveries afterwards.

Sounds a bit suspicious to me...having been in the industry for as long as I have I find it hard to accept that one would look for funding in Cruise Forum...I am sure that many people are certainly capable (both financially and professionally) of assisting...but I do find this request to be a bit suspect.

Save your money for that QE2 world cruise in the QE or QM suite

If this New Premier Cruises is as real as it is lead to be, then a few questions I have?? Also do u own the Premier Cruise name as I am sure whoever owns the old Premier name may have some say and WHY Premier Cruises??

Their are alot of other names, if u wanted one of an ex line I would have picked only one hands down and that is the name of Dolphin Cruise Line, that was one company who had an excellent reputation in the industry with some really great itineraries and seemed to have done well, until taken over by Premier Cruise Line!!

I would assume you are planning on buying/chartering used ships as it is the best way to start!!

And if u want an idea for itineraries, I would say base out of Santa Domingo,Aruba,Barbados or Montego Bay and run Caribbean itineraries, something unique and year round or even just 7-8 months and the other 4-5 months running Vancouver to Alaska on 10 and 11 day round trips, you could cover alot of ground in that time and give people the REAL experience of Alaska!

Hmmm..Sounds odd. I am also trying to start my own line. We plan on using the old S/S Catalina which is now in Ensenada, Mexico. I would like to add at least three decks of verandah cabins to her and install an outdoor ice skating rink on her aft deck. if interested, you can send a check to me at.......

Mr. Whalen, I too am sorry to say to you that this is not an appropriate use of this forum and besides does not look too Kosher either. Asking for ideas for itineraries, ships to use or marketing ideas is fine and I have myself put forth a few ideas to see what the response was, but begging for money is plain tawdry.

Frankly the world is awash with persons filled with dreams about new cruise lines offering new cruise opportunities, but sad to say that 99.9% of those dreamers haven't 2 plug nickels (including yours truly) to rub together and as the man said..."money talks and BS walks"

Good one, Lasuvidaboy,

Really though, has there been any news of further help for this wonderful old ship in the last 3 or 4 years? Is any work being done?

My family and I sailed to Catalina and back on it in about 1946 when I was a child of 9. I remember sneaking down to the lower deck where the lifeboats were and being really close to the water. I could see sharks in the sea as well from there. What an experience for a naive kid from the desert!

There is a group SS Catalina Preservation Society trying to save this wonderful classis 1920s steamer. Last I heard they were trying to get funds to raise her from the harbor in Ensenada. She developed a leak years back and settled into the harbor mud with her superstructure and tall funnel above the water. apparently her hull is in fine shape, all she needs is to be patched and pumped out. If that happens, she would be returned to the US and hopefully restored as a dockside attraction. I would much rather see her sail her old route, re-engined and crossing the channel to Catalina like she did for all those years.

The ship shown under 'our fleet' is BRB II.

From Maritime Matters:
Breaking News
May 13: Brokers representing both PRINCESA VICTORIA (ex DUNNOTTAR CASTLE, VICTORIA, THE VICTORIA) and RED BOAT (ex EUGENIO C, EUGENIO COSTA, EDINBURGH CASTLE, THE BIG RED BOAT II) state earlier reports regarding both ships are incorrect. PRINCESA VICTORIA did, indeed, leave for the breakers, but her destination is now said to be Alang, not Chittagong. RED BOAT is supposedly still at her Freeport moorings as eleventh hour negotiations are underway to sell her for further trading.

There are real cruise lines around that don’t either!

I just remembered a story that was published in the news papers a while ago. A person offered 14 day cruises on the Costa Europa for 200 Euro’s (that would make all of us already suspicious and laughing) but anyway there where numerous people who paid up (even a company who booked for about 15 people as a personal trip) Of course the cruise never existed, well it did but not for these people! It even got worse this person claimed he had to deliver the luggage to the ship early so a few days before the fake departure he picked up all the luggage with newly bought cameras and formal dresses. Of course at the day of the cruise the man had left with all the money and suitcases. And the people whom he had scammed had nothing at all. According to them the man sounded very sincere and trust worthy. And his brochure (a self made and printed pamphlet) looked authentic.

So Ben you are right with a scanner a printer you can be very convincing, official logo’s can be downloaded as well from the internet.

Anyway if someone offered me a 14 day cruise on the Costa Europa for only 200 Euro’s I would immediately walk away.

I do agree that it was a little rood to ask money of the posters on this forum and I am deeply sorry for that.
The cruise line idea has not realy left the ground yet. We are still working out how we are to set up our line. We have looked into the USPTO (United States Patent And Trademark Office) and found that ALL Premier Cruise Line trademarks are dead accept for one. "Premier Cruise Lines" was the one trademark that is still live. We have decided to continue on using the name PREMIER CRUISES INTERNATIONAL. This is legal because the origional Premier Cruise Lines only got a trademark for the words "Premier, Cruise, and Lines". Premier Cruises International is a legal name and as I said, we will continue to use that name.
We are currently working on a business plan, and if anyone has any suggestions as to how we should go about setting up the plan or about the cruise line in general, PLEASE contact me at: karatom14@hotmail.com

I also want to let you know that I am NOT OUT TO TAKE ANYONES MONEY!!!
In fact, I wouldnt even think about accepting money until the business plan is finished and destributed to investors.
Thankyou for all your interest, and I hope to hear more from some of you.
Sincerely,
Thomas Whalen

If you are a new company than don't usse the old Premier Cruises logo. And start al over.

If you are serious about your so called cruise company stop with the joke on your website.

Furtere you ussed the Big Red Boat II. How is this possible if you have no money. The ship brooker will do on this thermes buisinis with you.

If you have sincere interests of starting a cruise line then I whish you all the luck and hope you succeed.

I do wonder why you chose a name already associated with a cruise company that went bankrupt and laid up the ships when people where still in the middle of a cruise. Aren’t you afraid you will wrongly be associated and mistaken for late Premier Cruise Lines? If I were you I would create a new name for your product, a clean and fresh start with no associations yet.

Begin to be a litle angry. If you are new here and post such a topic you beth you would not be taken serious. you say your not achild so my words only reflects that so therfore "start like a adult". By no means i want to insult you. Buth your own post is the trigger. You begin to insult also other poeple who are not reacting on your so called cruise company. Therfore they are not computer geeks. They are people who have a defotion fore cruise ships, Liners and there history. So therfore coming unprepaird to this site, and post something about a new cruise line with a link to a company with sunk in ther own depts. They will go ask questions and joke a little bid. You like good jokes i believe. Just look at your own site on the free cruises.

Personally i believe you now noth much about cruise ships and liners. So we all would like to answer your questions.
Buth i can not believe your words about your cruise company certainly not after looking at your first post, your reaction and site.
Sorry fore that.

Ben.

And i will post so that it wil be read by others to avoid problems with you.

Sorry did not want to offend you. So who are you in talks with to get this money ?
Going to go to the local bank and take out a loan for a 30,567 Tonnage ocean liner, for collateral you put up your car or a second mortgage on your house ? This may work.... Maybe you can become captain and your son can be the second officer, your son's friends can help too like in the engine room and stuff...
