I heard she was being refitted including 2010 upgrades and would resume a full schedule on completion including some new routes further south and up the East coast. Cute ship, ex Jason ?

I think you are getting mixed up with the company that was operating the Royal Star cruise ship which was abandonded in Mombasa after loosing a prop.

The company operating these cruises, Foresight Group, is UK based and been in business since 1984 .

I also understand the Ocean Odyssey is being updated to meet the Solas 2010 regulations.

When named ' Jason ' she was owned the Greek Company' Epirotiki Cruises ' and cruised all over the world for them.

I go by what is on the companies website.

All they have done is to position the ship to Mauritius as they can not cruise from Goa all year round.

For the past two years they have cruised to the Laccadive Islands from Goa !

I would suggest you check out the Indian Ocean Cruises website !

In clicking on the link from the OP, the "Special Offers" section is advertising trips for Christmas 2008 and says their offers are extended through November 2008. Doesn't sound like a website that is being maintained to me...

In looking further, it does appear that there are cruises scheduled for 2009 in the "Voyages" section. The website is interesting, but not very user friendly IMHO.

A lot of these small company cruising websites could do with updating.

She had been used last year as a floating restaurant in Mauritius. Then, end of 08 Indian Ocean announced a sales agreement with THOMSON INDIA! - Thomson UK stated they had no involvement at all and would also not sell/promote the vessel. She had been arrested while docked, due to outstanding insurance payments I heard from local sources. Supposedly she will (or) is being refurbished and upgraded to SOLAS 2010 standard. A well known German Agency who had the Ocean Odeyssey in their portfolio, have inspected the vessel and decided not to promote her at her present state. That's it folks....stay tuned

Yes, read the old threads here and here [down to the bottom for the link], regarding the hotel/restaurant etc and 'new lease of life' last year, but seems this has not come about then? The website is full of the itineraries but no pricing. [Thomas Cook not Thomson ]
