Hi,

just a short correction: The vessel has not been sold, she is under subcharter to Blue Ocean Cruises, a Greek company with a sales-office in India.
This company is related to MIC and intended to use the MAESTRO (ex BLUE MONARCH) before but the easyCruise LIFE was the more modern and finally better choice for them.
The ship is currently being prepared for her voyage to Mumbai and gets her new color-sheme applied.

There was mention in a Greek forum last week that there is also an option to purchase; is that correct?
Also that the crew from Ocean Majesty are aboard.

Hi PamM,

there have been iquiries in order to purchase the vessel but the owners don't sell for the moment.

The charterer can employ it's own service-crew and that's the reason why a larger part from OCEAN MAJESTY-crew will be on the OCEAN LIFE.
Also remember that when the ship sailed for easyCruise that the service-crew was reduced to a minimum compared to regular cruiseships and these people have already taken other jobs since the ship was laid up in Drapetsona.

As her first cruise is advertised on their website as departing from Mumbai on the 2nd November at present, it looks as if she will have a jet propelled trip to get there.

The whole scenario is rather strange. Initial reports said there was a crack in the hull and a 5 degree list. The above says crack or hole and 3 degree list, with water entering cabins. [I wondered if perhaps she had hit a submerged container around Mumbai].

However she is now ready to sail again with no confirmation being made of the existance of either a hole or crack. Maybe someone did something 'silly' aboard with the water or ballast tanks?
