Sooner or later: yes.
I think you will see cruise-ferry type of ships running between Miami to Havanna just like there is going now between Helsinki and Stocholm.

Yes ! Some ships are already scheduled or performing cruises to Cuba.
For example Nina Cruises´ MV ITALIA PRIMA (soon the MV VALTUR PRIMA) performed cruises to Cuba the whole year already.
As well Black Sea Shipping Company´s MV VAN GOGH (ex GRUZIYA / CLUB I) will perform cruises to Cuba, starting in December this year under charter of Nouvelles Frontières Cruises.
I guess some of the major lines will not wait very long anymore to include Cuba into their schedules too.

Ex-USA vessels are calling on Cuba at this time. The government has supported the development of two terminals, one in Havana, and the other escapes e except that it is where the old DuPont mansion overlooks the water. When Carnival acquired Costa it had to dispose of the Cuban route and the Costa Playa that was cruising there.

I too would expect to see ferry operations between Miami, Key west & Havana as soon as the liberals get their way and normalize relations with the communist island.

The loss of Cuba as a tropical playground to the U.S. market was one of the greatest gifts the rest of the Caribbean ever received. While Cuba was languishing, the rest of the Caribbean absorbed huge amounts of investment capital; some of it did good, some of it was wasted, of course.

Cuba is about the same distance as the Bahamas, but used to be a whole lot more fun. Cuba's opening would be a loss to Hawaii, Jamaica, etc.

Hi osoowal - old DuPont mansion overlooks the ocean at Varadero - one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The mansioin is/was quite something - also te villas on the Dupont Estate too - at one time the mansion was set up as a restaurant. Don't know what is going on there now - last visit was in late 70's/early 80's. Cuba has come a long way since then. We hope to have a look see this coming winter.
