Currently sailing for parent company Star Cruises as the SUPERSTAR ARIES, the 1981-built 33,819 gt former MV EUROPA will be transferred to destination cruise specialist Orient Lines in the summer of 2002.

EUROPA was considered one of the finest ships of the 80's during her career with Hapag-Lloyd. She was purchased by Singapore-based Star Cruises in 1999 and renamed SUPERSTAR EUROPE before taking on her present name.

SUPERSTAR ARIES will be renamed OCEAN VOYAGER and will offer year-round worldwide itineraries. Orient Lines currently operates the 826-passenger MARCO POLO and 1,025 passenger CROWN ODYSSEY.

The addition of the 650-passenger OCEAN
VOYAGER will increase Orient Lines' capacity by 36%.

I am very happy that this fantastic ship will be transfered to Orient Lines in 2002. Star Cruises has made something awful out of her and it is very good to know that the formerly highest rated cruiseship in the world comes to Orient Lines, a company, which has a real talent in making out of the former EUROPA what she was before (the best example is the MARCO POLO).
Further more, the EUROPA is a ship for worldwide cruising and not to be kept at the same place all the time.
As I mentioned already in another topic, the ship would look perfect with a black and red line (the way how the blue and orange line looked like during Hapag Lloyd time). But they will paint her hull dark blue which won´t look bad either. At least it will look better than with the awful looking Star Cruises layout.
The ship got added some balconies which might be a practical addition but do not look well at all and should be removed.
I´m happy to hear from Orient Lines that the original names of the lounges will be kept (Belvedere Lounge, Europa Restaurant...)
I guess the ship will be a successful addition !

Why not transfer the Norway to the Orient Line and redecorate her in art deco, like the
Normandy. Then assign her to long distance cruising.
