Just in case, please tell me you're not booked on 'Pacific Princess' prior to mid-October!
So I know wich ship is going to sink , LOL !!!
However, I guess oceanliners are alot like cars. Once they have reaches a certain age, the general public sees them as old and outdated. And most of their remains will be found in scrap yards around the world. Yet, twenty or thirty years down the road, for the ones that escaped the fate of others of their generation, they will be consider by many as charming, classic, and a fine example of their era.
I'm sure when Porsche came out with the 911 in the 70s, lots of 356 went to the scrap yard. And I'm sure less than 10% of the original 1967 Ford Mustang is still on the road today. However, for those that are still on the road, they are greatly appreciated by those who owns and admire them.
Therefore, barring any accidents, I strongly believe a small collection of classics liners like the QE2, the France/Norway, Rotterdam V will always be floating somewhere in the seven seas.
