Wow, she was beautiful both inside and out. She looked good in white, really graceful. Why did she and her fleet mates have to go?

The Andrea Doria was the first to go because of what happened to her. The Colombo was retired in 1975 and on 1976, the Leonardo Da Vinci made the final cruise for Italian Line.

Are you skipping the Giulio Cesare? She was scrapped in 1973 after serious rudder damage. It's a shame.

In 1973 We had very serious problem which was Oil Shock, Oil price raised very high, So shipping Line to add oil surcharge but they couldn't lived longer,

High price oil killed Not only Italian line's ships but also too many Shipping Lines such as French Line, Italia Line, Swedish American Line, German Atlantic Line, Lloyd Triestino, Union-Castle Line, etc.
