In the early 1970's NAC issued separate cruise brochures by each cruises because they sold long cruises at the time though they begun to issue Vistafjord's all European cruises in the same brochure.
However RVL issued Cruise Atlas listed for all cruises up to 2 years sailings.

In the late 1970's, NAC sold 17 Cabins(C731-C747) on C deck until the early 1980's, these cabins were graded G (inside singles) and K (inside doubles).

Ocean Liners......
In the early 1070's it was Norwegian America
Line [NAL], not Norwegian American Cruises
[NAC]. That came later. I traveled on both in
the 70's. They were both good with the slight
edge toward Sagafjord for the size of cabins,
dining room, and the "feel" on board. In those
early years both felt far more spacious than in
Cunard days.

It was a Typo! Please read NAL.

NAC was used in the 1980s

If you still have Sagafjord's interior photos, Please post!

Ocean Liners........
Also please note it was Norwegian AMERICA Line
and later Norwegian AMERICAN Cruises.
In the 70's the Vista Dining Room seated all pax
in one sitting, but later under Cunard with all the
additions the one seating felt crowded. Waiters
bumped chairs trying to do their work and tables
were so much closer together. Trays were often carried over the heads of diners which was quite
precarious in rough seas.

When Cunard was added new additional cabins in the 80s, Due to enlargement of Vista's Restaurant. Its Service Area was reduced and four cabins removed.

Yes, Ocean Liners, between the Garden Lounge
and the Ballroom. I believe Cunard removed the card room during the later years........perhaps
when she became Caronia.

NAL,

Prior to the 1983 refit, Library/Writing Room was located at the portside adjacent Ball Room and starboard was Casino but Casino moved to portside and new computer center and Library grabed at the starboard at the 1983 refit.

In the early nineties, Computer center removed and Alders shop(later became jewerlry shop) took place.

When she renamed as Caronia, Bookshop replaces and Computer center recreated onto Main deck.

These two sisters have vied for my affection for ages. I initially liked Saga for her two deck dining room and then sailed on Vista and loved the ocean views from her dining room. Then Cunard took over and Saga got windows in the restaurant plus that fantastic double height. But now, once again, my loyalties are divided. I don't know why Saga Holidays have done it but Saga Rose has an incredibly trad decor whilst Saga Ruby is (IMHO) a classic understated masterpiece so I guess I have wandered back to her.....

But how brilliant of Saga to now have two fantastically beautiful and wonderfully regenerated ships

In many brochures, Promenade deck cabins had a footnote saying there were steps leading up to and around them. I think this was shown in the Cunard brochures. Could someone explain what they meant by that?

It could mean that those cabins were place above a deck of public room that had higher ceilings than other decks. On some ships when you entered the deckhouse from the boat deck you would climb a few steps. This allowed the deck below to have a higher than normal ceiling height for the large public rooms on that deck.

Unfortunately, I never sailed on Vistafjord, but I have great memories of an evening on board her in New York Harbor right after her maiden voyage. I was working as a travel agent, and was a guest of Norwegian America back in 1973. I was very impressed with her elegance, and the food on board.
