The world’s largest passenger liner, the 150,000 tonne Queen Mary 2, will be docking in Santa Cruz on the morning of Friday, January 16 on her only visit to Tenerife this year as part of her maiden voyage, a fourteen day cruise to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Hi everybody,

Here is the address of the Port of Santa Cruz /Tenerife - there are already photos of the QM 2 uploaded... In the right, upper edge is the way to the webcam - a little bit chaotic, but try it anyway :

www.puertosdetenerife.org

There will be a firework tonight at 2300 local time and the ship leaves afterwards for the short trip to Las Palmas/Gran Canaria for the visit tomorrow.

(no webcam!)

Have a lot of fun

Hmm, chaotic is the word. It shoots all about. I can't seem to grab anything from it either. Weird, the image carries on running within photoshop and goes black in there if I close it.. thinking cap on!
I am sure I saw a glimpse of Thomson Spirit there?
There are some lovely pics on the site

Pam

Pam did you say you saw T.Spirit?
Humm, I think that the ship in front of QM2 is Flamenco, nee Spirit of London!
Thanks to Onno second set of pics, I can see the unusual bridge, and current livery.
Wow! QM2 already have famous company with former Sun Princess, Star of Colombo Trouble waters! Desirod? There is our ship.
She also became russian Southern Cross fro CTC, the last time I saw her in 1996.
Pity Flamenco haven't got a bridge cam!

Looks like Pam and Louy are both correct! In front of QM2 is Flamenco and further down the dock is the T. Spirit. What would that be a great photo opportunity the small Flamnco’s bow facing the large QM2 bow!!

Here is also a shot of people embarking QM2,

How late will she depart today?

Best, Onno

Ah the 'molesting' msg One eventually gets in..
I think this link should take you directly to the QM2 page.
Pam
It doesn't but the top item is it. Horrendous site for navigating, doesn't work in anything but IE here.

I thought she supposed to have leaved already an hour ago but since she is still there and still taking on passengers, who knows! Maybe too much luggage.

QM2 must be leaving soon.....all the tour coaches are returning to the ship and people are scrambling up the gangway. The streaming video is pretty good but the pic is small and the java app won't let me expand the WMP 9 window. (Earlier I was watching television from South Africa with WMP 9, full screen, at 4 times the bit-rate).

I read somewhere there is supposed to be a fireworks display coinciding with QM2's departure, so I am eagerly awaiting that.

While I am waiting I am using my other computer to see if I can find any webcams in Las Palmas.

Brian

The gangway is now loose from the ship, so it won’t be too long!

Poor Camera work. In Madeira they took their single webcam off automatic and concentrated on QM2 as she left. Here with multiple cams and streaming video, we are getting very little of QM2.

Sorry! No such luck! I have run into dozens of out-of-date links on numerous web sites claiming to have comprehensive lists of webcams around the world. If it said Las Palmas de Gran Canaria I clicked on it, to no avail.

I sure hope someone can find a functioning webcam. It would be nice to watch QM2 in every port on this voyage. After Las Palmas we have Bridgetown (Barbados) and Charlotte Amalie (St. Thomas) and then Fort Lauderdale.
