Funny that someone paid 50.00 dollars for it. Even more funny that the guy that owns it give no Certificate of Authenticity or tells how he got it since he lives in the USA. This seller is new and has no history on ebay so I would not even pay 5 dollars for it.

I have two things I wanted to say in this post, but I can not make up my mind. Which should it be?

a. There is a sucker born every minute.

or

b. A fool and his money are easily parted.

Years ago, a guy listed a a flag on ebay that was supposedly from the Lusitania. He had no photo and, in the description, the only thing he put was "Flag from Lusitania ship". He was asking something like $250 for it. I emailed him and said "you've got to be kidding". He emailed me back a very nasty note calling me all kinds of names. I emailed him back a poison email and he never responded...

That was in '99. To this day, I email him about four times a year with the only message "Sold that flag yet?"

During my late night exploration of QM2 I stumbled on a storage area for all the carpet onboard. Rolls and rolls and rolls of carpet. There was also some spare furnature.

For real there are people getting ripped off Ebay so items like this should at least have a good story if you do not have any Authenticity to it. I buy and sell many things and seen them all, some sick odd crap too so I guess like SpiritSailor said There is a sucker born every minute but who pay 50.00 for that (that's if he really sends him the money).

Hay my name on Ebay is also Draikar !

Oh Pam I forgot to give you the measurements, could you make it a piece of 4 by 4 meters (would look nice in my bedroom)

50 dollar’s is a lot of money for a piece not big enough to wipe your feet off, one would at least expect a photo of the specific lounge, restaurant, cabin or where ever the supposed rest piece is from for comparison. Anyway I always thought these sort “own a piece of” items get on the market when a famous ship (or other object) got at their end of their life. Look at the Berlin wall I doubt there would have been a big market for pieces the first year the wall was placed, other than that there would have been a hole for people to escape trough.

Sorry Onno, Maasdam, I am not paying BA any excess baggage to bring you back a couple of oversized "souvenirs" Now a mosaic of 1"sq carpet pieces collected from all over the ship and framed may be more likely.
I don't however take things I am not supposed to, well except for the collection of airline knives, forks & spoons which have from time to time fallen quite by chance off the tray into my bag [they make nice cake forks etc], and I don't prowl around to peek in areas that are obviously not for passengers. I have found myself in one or two places I'm not supposed to be over the years, but quite by accident.
But I'll send you a postcard if that's any consolation?
Pam

Some of these things are unbelievable. The "Air" was put up as a complete joke to see how daft people were and now at $51.05! LOL.
The Commemorative issue from the Southern Daily Echo can still be purchsed from the Echo for £13.80 inc UK P&P maybe a bit more for he US, but still, $36.99 is crazy especially as the issue number is after mine & I only got it 2 weeks ago.

The UK newspapers carried a story about a British student (female) who is struggling to pay for her Degree. In order to finance her studies she has put up her Virginity for sale on E-BAY.

In another story a few years ago, an Art student listed every possession in his life and put them up for sale. He made a considerable amount of money. I’m not sure what he sits or sleeps on now?

Malcolm,

What is vaginity? Is there a shortage of this in Britain? Is there a market for this sort of thing?
Do Americans have any? And if I sold mine, could I afford a seven day cruise?
Or is it a british make of car? And if so, how will she get to class if she sells her mode of transportation?

Just kidding, my friend

But, seriously! This girl...I mean how much is tuition over there? It must be some pretty good "VAGINITY" to pay for college!
I understand it doesn't have much of a re-sale value

Curious as to what her major might be!?

Smiles,
Michael534

Whoops, I spelt it wrong! It's been a very long time since I've used that word.

Yes there is a shortage in Britain.

Like the photos that have had the copyright notices removed!

The photographers who actually took the photos should consider legal action against the pirates or at least inform eBay of the fraud.
