Here are two pics that I took on Sunday at the NY Passenger Terminal. The first is a collage of a few pics trying to get the great length of the Queens in a shot. And the second was taken from the ferry to Weehawken.

It is still incredible to me how huge the QM2 looks when compared to her much prettier sister. I still am trying to love her look, but from some angles, QM2 just looks odd to me.

It certainly appeared that way Onno. The QE2 was definitely the much more graceful liner. But it was nice to have the Norwegian Daan there too to realize that the QM2 could be so much worse looking

Just can't decide where to take QE2 passing the QM2 at 2.30pm..
Hope my tears won't waste my pictures!
BTW, looks like a giant photocopier was lost in the Hudson!

Great Thad.. I see you caught the missing paint [under plimsoll line], Lingerguy caught it too in his album. I saw it there as walking off, but didn't have the camera to hand. Any chance of a closer pic of that bit please?

The more I see QM2 the lovelier I think she is - she seems to me to be the best possible compromise between classic good looks and the demands of a modern ship. I can't wait to see her for real - on Saturday.

is it just me or is cruise security so tight that they oversee the possibility to blow up QM2 in New York without passing any Security ??

I was there too.How'd you get in there?It was only for passengers to go up and in from what I saw.

I was able to get in there personally because father knows blumberg, but i think that if you had a press card you could get in there no problem.

Public had to stay behind metalic fence with police officers in front of them from what i saw when i went there saturday.

I just took a taxi right to the pier, and pretended to be a passenger, which got me upstairs, I then was able to wander around pretty easily...

Thanks Pam for blowing up this paint scratch detail.
As you were onboard, did you see how fast QM2 had to go to arrive on time after slowing down to 17 knots for 10 hours????
That will explain the paint scratching at the bows...
