Two things occur to me -

first does anyone else agree with me that Meridian was a far better conversion then Costa Riviera?

And secondly, why don't Costa use real coast names - Costa Smeralda, Costa Azzura, Costa brava, Costa Blanca and so on - instead of the ghastly made up names they are using now?

To MEC 1

As far as I know Costa was the familiy name of the founder of this company. Former Costa ships had
also the first name of family members like:
Andrea Costa, Enrico Costa, Eugenio Costa.

mec1 didn't want to refer books or deck plans.

Cruise Travel Magazine did a story about her a few years ago with interior photos. She actually had a refit late in her career that included the addition of an open well over her reception foyer. While not an atrium, it was a very attractive alteration. I was surprised she was sold off for scrap so soon after that refit, but she was over 40 years old and the price of scrap metal was at an all time high.
