That looks like the Bibby Liner DEVONSHIRE of 1939. She served many years as a troop carrier. In 1962 she was sold to British India Line, renamed DEVONIA, and converted to a student ship, before being sold for scrap in late 1967.

Certainly a great 'harbour tour'. Hard to believe this was 56 years ago.
Interesting that the QE 1 is on the berth opposite the Ocean Terminal (43/44) which looks as though some building work was being done or QE1 was having here mid season overhaul which used to happen each summer for a week in those days.
The picture of the Devonshire with the QE in the background also picks up the Red Funnel tug tender Calshot which I think is still just afloat somewhere in Southampton docks and is still a restoration project.
These all look very similar to me!

Yes, it is the Isle of Jersey [all nicely labelled on the back or I wouldn't have known which one]. This was the last week in August, but don't know the exact day, so perhaps it was her overhaul?
