If I remeber right she has been in another Louis de Funes movie (the one where he plays a writer who has to get rid of a corpse) and of course in 'Le Cerveau'.
Thanks for posting that, Ben. What wonderful footage, and her whistle was just glorious. Never heard it before. And I guess I'll never hear it again.
I stood on her forward upper decks once in Miami just before we departed and the horn sounded only a little ways behind me, it nearly caused me to jump off the ship it was so sudden and loud but that clip brought it back, thanks so much.

"Monsieur Jo", but has "France" really a part in this ? It has been a very long time I've seen it, and I only remember as reference to "France", the suitcase at the end with the sticker "France".
The director of "Le Cerveau", Oury, died only a few days ago. "France" is really glorious in it, though you can see more of the interiors in "Le Gendarme à New York". It is also a better movie than the Gendarme movie.
There is also an almost complete comic stripbook with a story on board "France" : Ric Hochet - Rapt sur le France. (I have it in Dutch, Rik Ringers, Gangsters op de France)
Did the "Norway" figure in some films, if only in a cameo role, as did Queen Mary in the '70s ?

I'm unaware of any films showing the NORWAY, except for the background in some episodes of "Miami Vice." And locally here in South Florida, there is still a TV commercial playing daily for City Furniture, which shows a quick flash of NORWAY leaving Government Cut on her way out to sea.

That's "CSI: Miami", fella. There'l l be no Norway in tonight's season premiere because Horatio and Eric will be in Rio tracking down Marisol's killer. The episode was actually filmed in Rio rather than a studio back lot. According to the show's executive producer, the revenge killing will be gory but the scenery will be gorgeous

In his days hé was verry populair here in the Netherlands. My father and my youngest sister where fan of his movies spesially the gendarmery movies. I'm fan to indead this gendarmery movie is not the best buth there are funny moments in the film. And actually almost all a/b the France. Like that lost scene also.

The other ships in NY at the end of the clip are: MICHELANGELO (distinguished by her 1st Class Lido Bar), QUEEN MARY, and beyond that you can just see the funnel of Greek Line's OLYMPIA.
