Maybe I did miss something, but I thought Monach Classic Cruises would sail with Ocean Monarch and Grand Victoria (Blue Monarch). But on their website they are naming the Ocean Countess (Lili Marleen) instead of Ocean Monarch. Anyone knows more about this?

The original plan was to sail with OCEAN MONARCH, but then Holiday Kreuzfahrten went bankrupt and LILI MARLEEN (now OCEAN COUNTESS) which is owned by Majestic (one of the partners in Monarch Classic Cruises) became available.

OCEAN COUNTESS is 21 years younger, more efficient and has a shallower draft than OCEAN MONARCH and carries exactly double the number of passengers on the older ship - 840 vs 420.

As far as I know, no plans have been announced for OCEAN MONARCH.

She has been listed for sale for some time but then seems to get a reprieve.

Maybe the Portugese operation ' Classic International Cruises ' would consider her to run alongside her sister ship if the price was right.

Can be. Since Athena is not sailing for CIC anymore 'there may be room for Ocean Monarch within their fleet.
