I have a movie on video, but I can't find it or remember the name. It's from the 1940s or 1950s and has a star like Doris Day or Betty Hutton or somebody going from America to Brazil on a marvelous classic ocean liner. It's one of those mistaken identity things. I seem to remember a husband sending a detective on the ship to follow his wife and the guy follows the wrong lady. Anybody remember the title and stars of this movie ???

You're thinking of "Romance on the High Seas" (1948.) It was Doris Day's first movie. Jack Carson played the detective. More info

I know we already talked about it, but is there is film guide that actually lists the cruiseliners in the movies?
May be a section could be added?
For the first time 2 weeks ago, the weekly Radio Times actually listed the old "Queen Elizabeth" as an inspiration for the set of James Bond's "The Man with the Golden Gun".
Lets hope their 2009 Film Guide will now include the ships as well as the Stars!
