Hello everyone! Just a quick note to let you know that my QE2 book QE2 a Photographic Journey has been posted on Amazon Books

The book, which is full colour, takes you on a journey through QE2 via the images of the public rooms and ship's exterior. The photographs were primarily taken by us however we had some assistance from fellow Cruise Talker's Pam, Jochen and Thad.

The book's foreword is written by Bill Miller and there are various inclusions from Captain McNaught and Commodore Warwick. As part of this project we were lucky enough to visit the engine room during our March 2008 cruise which was an amazing experience and photographs taken from this and many other tours are included in the book.

It's not due out until October so the Amazon site doesn't have a lot of detail on it as yet, but I wanted to share this with everyone - as you can imagine, we're pretty excited!!

Congrats Chris! That's very exciting indeed; can't wait to see it.

I am about half finished with an ebook on BREMEN/EUROPA; it's a side by side comparison of the two.

Congratulations Chris!

I imagine it will be a very happy occasion in October when it is published - November will not be such a great month though.

For me October will be pretty emotional too as I have QE2's last visit to New York to look forward to. The last time I will ever see her in service.

I am not normally a very sentimental person but QE2 is very special to me.

Hello from aboard QE2.

Thank you again for the kind comments - Pam - love your photos in the book, they turned out great! We've had a wonderful response aboard QE2 since we came here on Wednesday and it's great to be back aboard for one last time.

Strange to note - during her recent Southampton refit, small changes including re-carpeted Boat Deck corridors and new seating in the mid-ship's lobby (re-covered). Our C2 cabin is lovely.

All the best for now - and thanks again for all the support.

Chris.

I will have to order a copy, my father worked on her for a number of years, I was a youngster back in those days, all I remember clearly is how big everything was and for some reason, red carpeting !
