I have uploaded a wonderful 1926 interior booklet for the Carinthia and Franconia on my site. I paid about $25 for this several years ago. Here's the link:

Love those period rooms onboard. The Spanish style smoking room looks like many of the buildings build here in Southern California during our Golden Age of architecture between WW1 and WWII. Thanks for posting!

Thanks everyone. Yes, it is a fantastic interior booklet; I'll be posting more soon.

Although the internet is a great tool for getting info and photos, it's still a shame that cruise lines no longer publish booklets like this.

Russ, thanks for sharing--I have this booklet too, and what makes it so special is that all the photos are colorized. I've got these interior books for ALL of the Cunard & White Star liners of the 20th Century, and every one (at least pre-War) is in black & white. Quite a little treasure!

One of the things that's interesting about the booklet is the blurb on the title page. It states that the photographs were taken on board the ships (obviously!) and 'in color'. Perhaps they could fool folks in 1926 but, today, we know better. As Rich states, they were simply colorized black and white shots; but, in fairness, it's some of the best colorization I've ever seen.

Rich, I'm sure you and I have the same lot of brochures and, now that you mention it, they are all black and white (or color renderings).

i also have this brochure and have enjoyed looking at it many times...my uncle use to work on the CARINTHIA and when i showed him the brochure he fell in love reminising (sp.) about the ship and what he got away with while on board..."never a dull day" he said....jeff

Some images are not as well colorized as others but some are fantatsic. The different shades of the tapestry upholstery and the reflection of the water in the pool are excellent. The wood paneling near the pool looks colorized but the rest of the space was very well done.
