Yesterday I dug up some photos from an old suitcase from my attic, belonging to my grand uncle. They were taken in late 1952 during a trip he did as a photograph reporter for magazines and those ones were never published before.*

Here they are:

Very good work, Dominique, thanks for sharing! The only suggestion I would make is to alter the US flag on the last image--it currently shows a modern flag which would not have existed in the early 1950s.

But that is picking nits--very well done!

Rich

I haven't replied earlier but I wanted to say many thanks to all for the comments!
That task has needed an enormous amount of work and search indeed (although some little imperfections still remain), that why your comments are very appreciated.

No don't worry Rich, you're not nit-picking at all! I like to do and see "perfect" things as well, and had I knew about the flag mistake before completing the model, I would have corrected it. Your observation is very welcomed and I'm a bit ashame to have done that mistake. Your expertise is always welcomed by me.

Indarra, color screenshots of the model can be seen here:

www.dvomarinedesign.com/france3d/VS6.htm

In addition, I've just put together and released this video:

SS UNITED STATES forever.

Please, do select the "HQ" button at the bottom right of the video screen for being able to look at all the details in higher resolution and quality.

Best regards to all.
