In the US market, the oldest ships with the majors all date back to the early 90's.
HAL - STATENDAM - 1993Carnival - FANTASY - 1990Royal Caribbean - MAJESTY OF THE SEAS - 1992NCL - NORWEGIAN SPIRIT - 1998Princess Cruises - SUN PRINCESS - 1995Celebrity Cruises - CENTURY - 1995Disney - DISNEY MAGIC - 1998
All these ships have a lot of years left in them and are doing quite well in the US market. In addition all the lines have spent a good deal of money upgrading them and keeping them current.
Some of the more older tonnage with well known cruise lines (still marketed in the US) can actually be associated with the more luxurious lines.
Seabourn - SEABOURN PRIDE - 1988 Silversea - SILVER CLOUD - 1994Seadream Yacht - SEADREAM YACHT I - 1984 Windstar - WINDSTAR - 1986
Again, I see lots of life left in all these ships, even in the US market.

quote:Originally posted by steeplechase:I sailed the Norway,Universe Explorer,Enchanted Isle and the Regal Empress just before scrapping. What would be your best guess on who is next State Side? Which ship is the oldest stilll sailing The United States? I would think since Solas 2010 cleared a bunch out those now sailing have a few good years ahead of them. I am thinking maybe Celebrity Mercury on Febuary 14th 2011??
Given that you seem to sail ships that then get scrapped - have you considered booking Norwegian Epic ??!!
