On the web site gsaauctions.gov under the miscellaneous tab there are some items from the ship gift shop. Some with the ship name on them. I thought some readers may be interested.

This was the 1st cruise ship we were on. Built in 1951. OLD!

Interesting stuff. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a book and a t shirt. I do have a metal SS. Independence key chain and pop/beer can cooler that I picked up on the ship in 1995(it's been that long?). A little piece of history

I wonder if that is a commemorative book marking the ship's 50th anniversary-2000, a year before she was pulled from service.

I think those "books" were photo albums from the gift shop stores on the Indy. I don't think American Hawaii did a commemorative when the ship turned 50. I wrote the commemorative for American Hawaii which was done in 1990 when they firm turned ten and the ships turned 40. I still have some original copies if anyone is interested.
