It's time to start an appendix for this topic. Reading through 128 replies is a bit too long to get an response to this question.

Years ago I caught a french film with english subtitles. The movie had an "It's a Mad Mad World" type of plot.
The climax of the movie was a departure from LeHarve aboard the SS France with the Statue of Liberty strapped to the bow between the king posts.
Does anyone recall the title of that movie?

On a second note "Sabrina" Hepburn & Bogart has a split second shot of the SS United States in port with the final scene filmed on the Liberte. In Grumpy Old Men there is a one frame shot on a TV screen of the SSUS's funnel.

It's many, many years ago that I have seen this movie. It's a Lloyd Adriatico vessel like Brennero or San Marco or San Giorgio (it's probably not her, see here: another view of San Giorgio). I am BTW amazed that there are not too many photos of these fabulous ships available online.

Recently I watched an episode of 'Hot in Cleveland' that took place on a cruise ship. No exteriors were used but the sets for the connecting cabins and a small lounge were extremely well done. The cabin layout included an oversized porthole (similar to the Disney ships) as well as a very convincing bathroom. The fittings and furniture used on the set was very well done.
