I seem to be one of the people around that remembers Prestige Cruises. It was a joint venture between Costa and SOVCOMFLOT of Russia, and operated in the early 90s. I find it very hard to find any good info on this line. The fleet included DANAE, DAPHNE, FEDOR DOSTOEVSKIY (ex-ASTOR of 1987), and, according to some, the MAXIM GORKIY, though I have never seen a picture of her with the Prestige cruises funnel colours.
According to this source, the line was wound up in 1992:

Here is the DAPHNE in Prestige Cruises colours:

Can anyone tell me more? When exactly did this line start, and when did it cease ops? Which ships were in its fleet exactly?
Many thanks!
Reminds me this old thread that brings me back more than 13 years ago at the begining of CruiseTalk:http://www.travelserver.net/travelpage/ubb-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=3&t=0000 14

of course I'm still around Jesus, already 13 years ago when we had these Cruise Trivias... How the time is flying.
Prestige Cruises' logo was only applied on DANAE's and DAPHNE's funnels as these two ships were marked under Prestige Cruises brand by Costa.MAXIM GORKIY and FEDOR DOSTOEVSKIY, also part of this joint-venture, were instead continuing sailing under charter to Phoenix Reisen and Neckermann Seereisen.I only remember that the Prestige Cruises-Logo was printed in both brochures just to show that both vessels are part of the joint-venture.
The joint-venture was actually a first and easy step for Sovcomflot to get their two ships out from the Soviet register to Bahama-flag.
