i'm back with some more questions about my forthcoming first cruise.

Firstly can somebody please tell me what the required dress code is for mealtimes on the airtours ship 'sunbird', I have heard it is more relaxed than on other ships?

Secondly will we need to take travel plugs with us so the other half can use her hair dryer etc?

Lastly does any one no what temperatures we can expect going round the Canaries and North Africa in October?

I look forward to your replies and thank you in advance.

Hi Paul, the dress code on Sunbird is indeed more relaxed than on other ships, in particular it is expected that people will dress formally on two nights during a 7 night cruise, minimum attire for men trousers and long sleeve shirt and smart casual separates for women, however when we were on board we also saw glitzy dresses and penguin suits!

Check the brochure with regard to dress code, I seem to remember that it was reasonably informative.

With regard to travel adapters, the answer is yes you will require them, from memory the sockets are US style 110v.

I don't know about the weather I'm afraid, but if it's anything like the cruise we had on Sunbird in January you will enjoy it.

Bit confused about what ship you're going on as your post is titled Sundream but you say you're going on Sunbird. Anyway - we were on Sunbird in May and my review is here

I've put a bit in about hairdryers but I'd recommend that your other half just borrows the one onboard as you will see we had problems with the plugs and currents.

Dress is really as relaxed or as formal as you want it to be. On the formal nights the ladies do all tend to make a big effort but even on casual nights some still dress to kill. As for the gents there were quite a lot of tux and kilts on formal nights and some in dark suits and some with just shirt and tie. Again on casual nights some men still wore jacket and tie. As long as it isn't shorts/jeans/vests you can just wear what you are comfortable in.

Hope this helps.
