Ernie,

Have a great time on MY ship. I was fortunate enough to be on the take-out crew back almost two years ago. Many fond memories. I trained on the Freedom of the Seas for two months before they flew us to Finland. It was amazing going from a functioning warm weather ship to the identical sister in the winter's cold and work-in-progress enviroinment of the Liberty in Turku. The biggest difference and most important, was the friendly, happy & great mood/energy onboard the Liberty. I hope it's still there and you have an fun and relaxing voyage.

Cheers,
Jack*

Ernie,

Liberty of the Seas is really a wonderful vessel! I'd go back in a heart-beat. She's BIG but you'd never know there were 4,000 passengers onboard. You might want to listen to some of the interviews I did with some of the crew during my five-part series of shows recorded aboard the Liberty. Check out the Virtual Cruise aboard the Liberty of the Seas here

Thanks Jack! I'm looking forward to it. I sailed on the FREEDOM inaugural revenue cruise so I pretty much know what to expect. These are amazing ships!

It's fantastic bringing a ship out from a shipyard isn't it? Back in 1990 I did the same with CROWN PRINCESS. I actually spent over a month at the shipyard in Italy before delivery, then worked onboard for a good seven months after that. It was an amazing experience!

Ship yards are very interesting places.

In 1954 I joined the P & O passenger ship ss Iberia in Belfast about two months before her trials and her entering service.

Also building in the Harland & Wolff shipyard at the same time was the Shaw Saville Lines passenger ship Southern Cross.

Thanks Jack. I really had a great time. What can I say, Royal Caribbean continues to impress me. The food, crew, entertainment, organization, etc. all top notch. On this cruise I came across one of the best staff members I've met on any trip. She was simply amazing and really made my trip. I was even able to tour the Bridge which was cool.

Hopefully a full review to follow, but unfortunately I took almost no pictures. I was much too busy having fun I guess.

Ernie
